Old actors never die; they just seek new stages
The Bukit Lizt Players (BLP), Spearfish’s Senior Community Theater, kicked off in April 2014 and in a short time gained national recognition with both local and regional press support. Most importantly, they have garnered enthusiastic support from the Spearfish Senior community as well as members of the Spearfish Community in general. BLP completed a month long workshop series in May 2014 specifically designed for Senior Theater participants.
On Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, Bukit Lizt Players will hit the stage of the Matthews Opera House, for the Bellman Brown Bag series. The BLP consider this their first true public performance. The program “Oldies but Still Goodies” will start at noon. This event is free and open to the public.
BLT performance details
The heart of the Nov. 12 program, “Oldies BUT still Goodies,” will describe and discuss Senior Theater and its rapid growth in communities across the country. There will be a short dialogue regarding their own Senior Theater and Workshop, and how it fulfills the various needs of its participants, and it’s future.
The Bukit Lizt ensemble will also perform four areas of presentation: oral interpretation, memorized monologues, short plays/scenes, and musical theater.
