For the third year, the Black Hills State University (BHSU) Senior Art Exhibit will take place at The Matthews Art Gallery.  Be sure to scroll down to see some of the student work that will be on display.

 April 6 – 27
Gallery hours: Tues.-Sat. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

April 7 – 5-7 p.m.

It’s required

This show is a requirement for graduation with a degree in art or photography.  New this year is the addition of photography senior students. It will feature 16 BHSU students in their final semesters of study of these majors.  Each student will have several pieces of work on display.  During the evening of the opening reception, the students present a short talk — about 2 minutes each — about their work.

Opening Reception

The reception takes place 5-7 p.m., Friday, April 7 in the Art Gallery.

“We are happy to have the exhibition at The Matthews’ art gallery again this year. This space provides a fresh, professional experience for our students. We hope to continue this collaboration,” remarks BHSU’s art professor, Ann Porter.

“I am excited to be working with the seniors this year. They have been very professional in all their dealings with the art gallery. As the planning process continues, I look forward to seeing what everyone has created and hearing about their inspirations. It’s an honor to be part of this experience,” says Katie Young, The Matthews patron services associate.

Many of the pieces of art are available for purchase.
