A big thank you goes out to the Spearfish Optimist Club from The Matthews! Today they presented us with a grant check to go towards our children’s programming. It costs lots of money and manpower to bring the kids’ programs to our community.

The Matthews Opera House Theater are happy to present Basix on stage on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. This is a Subscription Series event, with individual tickets available now ($25 adults, $10 youth & BHSU students). With a grand total of 5 international CARA awards, including “Best European Album” and “Best Holiday Album” the Danish vocal pop group Basix has proven themselves to be among the very best of a cappella groups worldwide.
Look out January 2015 in South Dakota. This band will warm us up because…It’s Carnival in Recife. It’s Mardi Gras in New Orleans. On January 23, 2015, Matuto will take our stage with their music leaping beyond the fun of fusion, to express a bigger artistic picture.
On March 12, at noon, in The Matthews Opera House theater, the Bellman Brown Bag Series pays homage to Women’s History month with a presentation about resources for conducting women’s history research in the special collections at BHSU Leland Case Library. Our presenter will be Bobbi Sago, Special Collections Librarian BHSU, Leland Case Library for Western Historical Studies.
