“High School Musical, JR” tickets on sale for its 10th year!

The 2017 Peanut Butter and Jelly production will be Disney’s “High School Musical, Jr.” Performances are June 23-25, 2017. Meet the cast of “Greater Tuna”

Director, Julie Walkins has announced the cast for the May 4-7 performance of “Greater Tuna.” The unique characteristic for this play is that the 20 characters are played by just a few people. Set in a radio station in Greater Tuna, Texas, the broadcast features many of the odd citizens in the town.  View photos from the play.

To Be or Not To Be: “Hamlet,” here April 5

At 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Apr. 5, The Matthews welcomes back the National Players Touring Theater for their presentation of the Shakespeare classic, “Hamlet.” This show replaces the Mother King concert in our 2016-17 Subscription Series. All current subscribers already have their seats for this show. This is the fourth event of our 2016-17 Subscription Series.  Individual tickets are $25 adults, $10 youth & BHSU students.

“Greater Tuna” brings another great comedy to The Matthews in May, 2017

The Matthews community theater will be the place to be for getting your giggle on.

What do Arles Struvie, Thurston Wheelis, Aunt Pearl, Petey Fisk, Phineas Blye, and Rev. Spikes have in common? In this hilarious send-up of small town morals and mores, they are all among the upstanding citizens of Tuna, Texas’ third smallest town.  This concert is the final event in our 2016-17 Subscription Series Season.  The play runs May 4-7, 2017. The Thursday-Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday performance is at 2:00 p.m.

February brings comedy-drama “Steel Magnolias” to the Black Hills

Warm your insides with laughter and tears this cold February in Spearfish. The ensemble cast of talented Black Hills’ actors takes The Matthews’ stage, Feb. 16-19, 2017. Thur.-Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m, with the Sunday show at 2 p.m. Prices are $15 adults, $10 subscribers, and $5 youth (18 & under) and BHSU students.
