At 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Apr. 5, The Matthews welcomes back the National Players Touring Theater for their presentation of the Shakespeare classic, “Hamlet.” This show replaces the Mother King concert in our 2016-17 Subscription Series. All current subscribers already have their seats for this show. This is the fourth event of our 2016-17 Subscription Series. Individual tickets are $25 adults, $10 youth & BHSU students.

Club Matthews kicks off its inaugural season of Jazz Sessions with a live concert by the JAS Quintet from Sioux Falls, SD. The concert takes place at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Mar. 2, at The Matthews Opera House. This event is the West River album release of “Leap Year Baby.”
Fusing the rock outfit of drums-bass-guitar with the traditional sounds of Malawi’s marimba, thumb piano, and percussion, Peter Mawanga & The Amaravi Movement Afro-vibes is a modern African sound that is intrinsically Malawian. He has the premier band in Malawi, Africa to boot who has been making headlines ever since their debut release “Paphiri ndi Padambo” in 2009.
