Auditions for “Angel Street” were held Sept. 7 in the opera house theater.

The Matthews 2017-18 Subscription Season kicks-off with Hank Harris & Matt Berry

AT 7:30 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 22, our season begins with a concert of full of Black Hills talent. 

Singer-songwriter Hank Harris, calls Rapid City his home, and Nashville musician, Matt Berry, born and raised in Spearfish, lead off our 2017-18 Subscription Series season. 

Cost is $25 adults, $10 youth & BHSU students. These individual tickets will be available for sale on Sept. 1.

Chilean music graces The Matthews with Nano Stern on Nov. 14, 2017

The Matthews is honored to have Chilean singer/songwriter, Nano Stern, perform live on its stage at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017.

Nano Sterns’ path as an artist follows richly crafted song lines laid by his family and his Chilean musical ancestry and unites those with a sound utterly fresh and relevant. Nano has found something within that has positioned him as the voice of a generation. This is the third event of our 2017-18 Subscription Series season.

Portland Cello Project coming to The Matthews Jan. 19

The Portland Cello Project (or PCP, as their fans affectionately call them) takes The Matthews stage at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 19, 2018.  PCP has wowed audiences all over the country with extravagant performances, everywhere from Prairie Home Companion, to that punk rock club in the part of town your grandma warns you not to go to after dark. The group has built a reputation mixing genres and blurring musical lines and perceptions wherever they go.

This is the fourth event of our 2017-18 Subscription Series season. Cost is $25 adults, $10 youth & BHSU students. Individual tickets will be available for sale on Sept. 1.
