“The Journey Through Yellowstone – A Firsthand Account.”

Local downtown business owners Clay Dykstra and John Williams will be showing a fascinating slideshow and recounting experiences from their 15 day, 160-mile journey through Yellowstone National Park in the middle of Winter. The two were part of a documentary being filmed about renowned wildlife photographer Tom Murphy.  This free event is from 7-8 p.m., Thursday, May 5, in The Matthews theater. See pictures below.

Thirty years ago, Murphy embarked upon the expedition of a lifetime. He skied across Yellowstone National Park, in the dead of winter, by himself with only a blue tarp as a shelter. A life-defining trip that had yet to be repeated…until now!

At the age of 66, Tom headed back across Yellowstone’s frozen landscape, this time with a film crew to document the journey. The expedition once again took the team across the most remote and inaccessible areas of the Park.

Join Clay and John for some amazing photos and see the gear that they pulled across Yellowstone. You don’t want to miss it! For more about the journey and film, please visit
