Bellman-Mar-FBevent

As part of the Spearfish Big Read, Black Hills author Sandra Brannan will be our featured speaker for the March Bellman.

Sandra Brannan has created a heart-pounding mystery thriller series around Liv Bergen, a woman who embodies the spirit of South Dakota. Much like her character Liv Bergen, Brannan has spent her career in the mining business.

Ms. Brannan’s topic for this month’s Bellman is “And a Villain is Born.” She will discuss the creative process of generating ideas, writing novels, developing book series, and with fulfilling promises to readers.

An added bonus for some of our lucky March Bellman attendees — Sandra is bringing 60 signed copies of her books and giving them away!

After living in Wyoming, Washington, D.C., Washington state, and Colorado, Sandra Brannan returned to her hometown in South Dakota, where she is surrounded by family. She enjoys working with relatives in the mining business; living in the Black Hills with her husband, Joel; smiling with pride over the journeys taken by her four sons; doting over her three grandchildren; and appreciating all of life’s blessings, too many to count.

Quote from Goodreads interview…

What is the best thing about being a writer?

Brannan: “I love the absolute freedom that writing affords me, particularly with my first draft. I can let the characters evolve and change and morph any way they tell me to write them, which is the easiest and most enjoyable part of the process for creating a published book. Writing for me is that feeling I get when I scuba dive: floating, colorful, quiet, peaceful, but most of all, free.”
