A big shout out and congratulations to Spearfish singer/songwriter, Jami Lynn. Jami has made the top ten in the 25th annual Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriting Competition.
Jami’s folk, Americana, and jazz music is not news around here. We all know she is tops in her field and now the world may soon find out.
“I always poke around at those festivals in hopes of playing them with my band or solo,” says Jami. “They’re really big festivals. They bring in really big acts, and so for someone my size, the only option of getting my foot in the door was a competition.”
It’s the first time Lynn will attend the three-day festival, located in Lyons, Colo. The festival has grown to a capacity of 4,000 and takes place Aug. 14-16. Headliners include Sufjan Stevens, Gillian Welch, Jason Isbell, Richard Thompson, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Shawn Colvin, and more.
