My artwork combines my experiences with agricultural animals and my family.  Throughout my experiences in childhood and adulthood, animals have always been part of my life.  Generations of my family members have made their livelihoods in agriculture, including my husband and his family.

Growing up in an agricultural environment has exposed me to many different types of animals and their tendencies.  This knowledge has allowed me to use them as characters in my paintings,  As my work has progressed, I have been integrating my children, family members, and myself into the paintings as well.

The inspiration behind my paintings, has been watching my children grow and change in the past months.  They are 2 and 3 years old and are constantly getting into catastrophes.  They both love animals and have started to have their own adventures with them.  Their love of animals drew me to reflect on my own experiences growing up around animals.  The paintings reflect both actual and fictional events.  They are based on memories and situations from my past and the everyday catastrophe’s of my children.
