During Spearfish’s annual Harvest Festival, The Matthews’ Art Gallery staff will be conducting a fun, free, children’s craft activity. Join us in the art gallery, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 23.
The children will be guided in how to create their own Halloween spider slime. The children, with the help of their parents and staff, will get to mix the gooey ingredients together. The resulting slime will be personalized with glitter and other spooky ingredients — like fake plastic spiders. After making their slime, the kids can personalize a plastic cup to act as their slime container.
Recommended Ages
This activity is advised for children at least 5 years and older because of the possibility of oral consumption. The ingredients used are non-toxic, but there will be glitter which is advised not to be eaten. Children need to be accompanied by an adult guardian.
Ingredients include clear school Elmer’s glue, water, liquid starch, glitter/confetti. The slime will be transported home for the holiday in a plastic solo cup decorated to suit their fancy.
