Meet the cast of “Greater Tuna”

Director, Julie Walkins has announced the cast for the May 4-7 performance of “Greater Tuna.” The unique characteristic for this play is that the 20 characters are played by just a few people. Set in a radio station in Greater Tuna, Texas, the broadcast features many of the odd citizens in the town.  View photos from the play.

Registration open for “High School Musical, JR” Children’s theater

The 2017 Peanut Butter and Jelly production will be Disney’s “High School Musical, Jr.” Performances will be June 23-25, 2017. Ann Froelich directs the play.  Registration officially starts on April 1 and ends May 15, 2017. Registration is limited to 50 students. Scroll down to download the application. 

AGE RANGE

The youngest age group of children must be entering 2nd grade in the Fall of 2017 (no exceptions) and the oldest is 18 years of age or entering their senior year of high school.

The Phantom of The Matthews Opera House back for 2017!

This year’s CAST!

“Is The Matthews haunted?”  41st year!

That was and is the question for generations. This original melodrama, written by Paul Higbee,  first appeared at The Matthews in 1976 and became a summer theater staple for locals and visitors alike throughout the 80s and 90s. You’re going to love this year’s CAST!

“Angel Street” brings suspense & deception to The Matthews Stage this fall

 

The Matthews’ community theater presents a night of deception and suspense with the play, “Angel Street,” by Patrick Hamilton. Originally titled, “Gaslight,” the event runs Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 2-5, 2017. “Angel Street” is directed by Julie Walkins. The Thursday-Saturday performances start at 7:30 p.m., while the Sunday performance is at 2 p.m. This is the second event of the 2017-18 Subscription Series.  

Individual tickets are $15 adults, $5 youth and BHSU students.

To Be or Not To Be: “Hamlet,” here April 5

At 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Apr. 5, The Matthews welcomes back the National Players Touring Theater for their presentation of the Shakespeare classic, “Hamlet.” This show replaces the Mother King concert in our 2016-17 Subscription Series. All current subscribers already have their seats for this show. This is the fourth event of our 2016-17 Subscription Series.  Individual tickets are $25 adults, $10 youth & BHSU students.
