The renegade traditionalists of North Carolina band, Mipso, are doing their part to take four-part harmony and Appalachian influences into new territory. That territory could mean the Black Hills of South Dakota. The Matthews welcomes Mipso at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2016. This is the fifth event in our 2015-16 Subscription Series. AT 7:30 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 23, our season begins with a concert — and what a concert it will be!
Singer-songwriter A.J. Croce is a multi-instrumentalist roots-rock artist, known for his boogie-woogie piano playing reminiscent of Dr. John. AJ has recorded eight studio albums for both major and indie labels in 23 years as a professional artist and musician. His music incorporates pop, blues, folk, and jazz, and has charted on seven radio charts including Top 40.
At 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 12, The Matthews welcomes back guitarist Clay Ross (of Matuto), with Ranky Tanky and band members Quiana Parler (vocals), Quentin Baxter (drums), Kevin Hamilton (bass), and Charlton Singleton (trumpet & vocals). This is the second event of our 2016-17 Subscription Series. Individual tickets are $25 adults, $10 youth & BHSU students.
