This has been the question for generations.

First performed 42 years ago.
Summer in the Black Hills is the best. With the return of the comedy melodrama, “The Phantom of The Matthews Opera House,” new traditions for friends and family are created.  This show was written for us by Paul Higbee in 1976– FORTY-TWO years old! Good old-fashioned belly laughs come from this wonderful cast from Black Hills State University’s theater department. You’re going to love the heckling cowboys and vivacious card girl!

Opening night has come and gone.  We had a blast watching the play with our audience.  The show continues every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in July at 7:30 p.m.  Get your tickets now and be ready to boo the bad guy and cheer the good guys!  Just below are some pictures of the first night’s performance.
