The Matthews Opera House and Arts Center is excited to announce the winners of the Community Art Show. Formerly known as the “Winter Art Show,” this was the fortieth event of its kind to be hosted by The Matthews.
Thursday night’s Community Art Show Reception saw over 100 people in The Matthew’s gallery. Visitors enjoyed refreshments, a cash bar, and time to view the artwork submitted by area locals.
“We are thrilled by the turnout to our reception,” said Heather Evans, gallery manager at The Matthews. “This was a great way to celebrate and recognize the amazing talent in the Spearfish area. Selecting the winners of this year’s show was incredibly difficult.”
The judges for the 40th Community Art Show were Heather Evans, local photographer Heidi Watson, and Quintin Owens, assistant professor of art at BHSU.
