COMING UP AT THE MATTHEWS
Happy April! We know that many of us are staying at home in an effort to keep ourselves and others healthy. So the Matthews is currently working on several “events” that can be enjoyed from home.
Right now, our Community Art Show is in full swing! We’ve already announced the winners and the local talent on display is simply incredible. You can visit our gallery (Tuesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.) or you can check out our new virtual gallery at the link below in the event description.
We also have the Sidewalk Chalk Challenge going on! We have challenged the Spearfish community to create wonderful works of art on their sidewalks with their families. It’s important that you practice good social distancing while doing this (of course), but we can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Finally, we do have a few cancellations and postponements to remind you of in case you haven’t seen our other announcements.
Our community theater comedy “Stepping Out” has been rescheduled for April 16 – 18, 23 – 25 of 2021. If you have already purchased tickets, you will be receiving an email letting you know what day your tickets have been transferred to.
Our annual children’s theater program, The Froelich Young Actors Guild, has unfortunately been canceled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is obviously a huge heartbreak for us, but we hope to have some additional children’s theater workshops scheduled in the future once events are considered safe.

41st Community Art Show
Through April 10
Our Community Art Show is still open for viewing and the winners have been announced!
Our gallery currently has limited its hours to Tuesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The show will be on display through April 10.
For those not wanting to leave their homes, we have also created a virtual gallery page.
The Matthews’ Sidewalk Chalk Challenge
April 1 – 30
We are challenging the Spearfish community to create amazing works of art on their sidewalks using chalk! Winners will get FREE ice cream from Leones’!
