The August Bellman Brown Bag series lecture is sure to be a treat for any history buff.
On Wednesday, August 13, from noon to 1:00 p.m. in our Fireplace Room, our presenter will be Native American James R. Horn, a historian and reenactor of many facets of South Dakota/Plains history. The subject of his talk will be “The Material Culture of the Plains Indian.”
Dressed in authentic Indian war bonnet and attire, Horn will share historical facts, demonstrations and stories of the Plains Indian culture.
Horn will explain the importance of the buffalo, the introduction of the horse and beads to the Plains natives. Those attending will be able to view authentic artifacts that Horn has collected over his lifetime.
