December Events at the Matthews

December 1, 2019

COMING UP AT THE MATTHEWS

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! If you’re looking for some festive cheer, the Matthews has some incredible events that are sure to put you in the Christmas spirit this December.
Starting off the month, we are celebrating South Dakota Day of Giving with “A Readers’ Theater Christmas Carol.” Our talented readers’ theater group is hard at work preparing a fabulous dramatic retelling of this classic Dickens’ tale. This event is free, but a donation is suggested. All donations will go towards the renovation of our back room into a community art space. If you haven’t heard about this project, you can find out more HERE.

Santa will be visiting the Matthews during the first weekend in December and we’ll have lots of holiday crafts for the little ones! Our popular Holiday Piano Duets Bellman is back (don’t forget to get there early), and our annual Holiday High Tea has already sold out!

If you’re looking to get involved in community theater, we have not one but TWO audition opportunities happening this month. Both of our upcoming shows, the musical “Bright Star” and hilarious comedy “Dearly Beloved,” are selecting their casts!

Finally, we will end this month with a stellar performance of Holiday Jazz with Sophia Beatty. You’ll be able to enjoy cabaret-style seating, bottle service, and incredible, power-house vocals. This is not an event to miss.

Phew! That should be everything! Make sure you scroll down to find out more!

Cheers,
The Matthews Staff

P.S. If you’re looking for gifts, consider supporting local artists and shopping in our gallery. We have some incredible handcrafted pieces that are just $50 and under.
