UPDATE | MAR. 16 Cancelation
Due to road flooding, then drifting snow, near Lower Brule, artist Cary Thrall will not be able to attend the Mar. 16 denim cutting at The Matthews. This event will be rescheduled. However, the denim drive continues!
==========
ArtCentral Spearfish presents the third summer of its Linking Fences community project. Artist Cary A. Thrall is creating three fences across three communities for 2019 and denim is a big part of all three fences. And because of that…
Recycle your old denim
In order to acquire a lot of denim and get it prepared for these community fences, a denim drive is currently taking place from now through April. Let go of those old blue jeans. All colors of denim are acceptable. What we can’t use — those holey or stretchy-type jeans.

We need help getting the denim ready to make fences
The public is invited to gather at The Matthews Fireplace Room (2nd floor), from 12-2 p.m., Saturday, Mar. 16 to help cut denim. NO experience is needed. Although, if you happen to have rotary cutters and cutting pads, you are more than welcome to bring them along.
As time goes on, more Linking Fence workshops and decorating will be announced. The fences are to be constructed sometime in June. They will be located Lead, Spearfish, and Lower Brule.
