AUDITIONS: 15th Annual Theatre on the Run
July 29 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
The Matthews Opera House invites you to be part of a milestone season as we celebrate the 15th Annual Theatre on the Run with “Murder at Legend Manor” by C.A. Dougherty.
This year’s production holds special significance as it brings to the stage the final original mystery written by Charlotte A. “C.A.” Dougherty, whose creativity, generosity, and passion helped shape community theatre at the Matthews for more than a decade. As a playwright, actor, director, board member, and mentor, Charlotte left an enduring mark on our stage and on the many people who had the privilege of working alongside her. This production honors her remarkable legacy by sharing one more of her stories with our community.
We are seeking a cast of 8 women and 8 men, with roles ranging from performers in their mid-twenties to “Infinity and Beyond.”
Auditions
Wednesday, July 29 and Thursday, July 30
6:30 p.m.
Matthews Opera House
No experience is necessary. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, and everyone is welcome. We are also looking for volunteers interested in backstage work, lighting, sound, costumes, props, and set construction.
For those new to Theatre on the Run, this annual production offers a theatre experience unlike any other. Audience members travel in small groups to multiple performance locations as the mystery unfolds one scene at a time. It is immersive, entertaining, and one of the Matthews’ most beloved traditions.
Whether you have been on stage for years or have always wanted to give theatre a try, we invite you to join us as we celebrate 15 years of Theatre on the Run and honor Charlotte Dougherty by bringing her final mystery to life.
