Author Visit with Jo Powell

Jo Powell is a retired art teacher who always wanted to write graphic novels and children’s books.

Her current focus is “Colorable History and Activity Books.” Powell researches area tourist attractions and turns them into history and coloring books that the whole family can enjoy. Thus far, she has written a book for the Tri-State Museum (Belle Fourche), The Vore Buffalo Jump, and Sundance, Wyoming. She is currently working on one of the D.C. Booth Fish Hatchery. She has also written a graphic novel entitled, “Dr. Spot and the Moon Queen.” All of these were self-published using Amazon.com’s venue, CreateSpace, which she’ll be explaining in her talk.

This is a FREE event presented by ArtCentral SpearfishRecommended for ages 15 and up. Younger children may attend but must be accompanied by an adult.

The event takes place in the ArtCentral RE:create makerspace in The Matthews’ art gallery.
