“Music for the Holidays” is the title of the December concert of the Spearfish Piano Duet Club on Wednesday, December 5, 12:00 noon at Matthews Opera house in downtown Spearfish. The club has performed on the popular Bellman Brown Bag series since 2004. Performers include Sandra Asheim, Pamela Baum, Laurie Behrens, Sue Cole, Donna Dettman, Rita Hicks, Laura Kolb, Janeen Larsen, Colleen McKirdy, Emma McKirdy-Wilsey, Lori Miller, Angela O’Shea, Priscilla Romkema, and Mimi Swisher. BHSU students Carissa Deming, Liz Luke, Joseph O’Rourke, and overseas guest researcher Haiyan Chen will also perform. The Spearfish Duet Club began in 2003, under the leadership of Synva Chrysler and Marianne Bieber, as a way for intermediate and advanced pianists to maintain their piano skills and at the same time have fun and enjoy each others’ musical talents. Adult members of the community and BHSU music students are involved in the performance and rehearsal activities, organized by Dr. Janeen Larsen. The concert is free and open to the public; coming early is recommended.
What is the Bellman?

Programs are presented on the second Wednesday of each month, noon to 1:00 p.m. Designed to begin and end within each lunch hour, patrons are invited to bring their lunch, if desired, or simply enjoy an hour of learning and entertainment.
