Orion & Stacey Potter – Husband and wife duo Orion & Stacey Potter have been performing together since 2009. Traveling both throughout the Black Hills and around the nation, they enjoy bringing music from almost every genre to their performances. Both are BHSU alumni, although ironically, neither received a degree in music. As they continue to expand their repertoires and musicianship, they are delighted to work with the talented group of musicians presenting at the Matthews Opera House in May.
Shawn Parker – Shawn Parker has been playing music in the Black Hills for over two decades in jazz, rock, funk and even a little bluegrass. Shawn is a graduate of The University of South Dakota and currently plays with local rock band Tie Dye Volcano although he can pop up in other groups wherever the music is needed!
Chet Murray – Chet Murray is a multi-instrumental and vocal performing artist from South Dakota. Known for his range as a talented lead and harmony singer, Chet is now also available as a solo performer in addition to ensemble performances. Chet has established himself as a permanent fixture in the South Dakota performing arts community since 1987. He has performed, toured, and recorded with local and regional musicians and more than a dozen national acts, and is listed among many talented musicians in the South Dakota Rock & Roll Music Hall of Fame. Although he is most comfortable performing classic country music, his musical repertoire and capabilities extend to jazz, blues, bluegrass, rock and roll, and spiritual genres. He continues to perform statewide as bassist/vocalist/pianist for The Wilt Brothers Band, a classic country band performing since the mid-1970s; bassist/vocalist for Campfire Concerto, an acoustic cowboy music quartet; and bassist for Les Singes Volants, a gypsy jazz ensemble, among others.
Connie Hubbard – Connie Hubbard is no stranger to the Matthews Opera House stage. She has acted, directed and played in numerous theater productions and concerts over the last seventeen years. Hubbard teaches German language to high school students online, and to university students at BHSU and SDSM&T. Connie started piano lessons at age 3 and finally finished her music degree at BHSU in 2006. She is so happy to be out of the house and to have the opportunity to play piano with this talented group! Hubbard lives in Spearfish, has two grown adventuresome kids, and an awesome husband, Todd.
