Support The Matthews

The Matthews Opera House stage lit from the wings, with the historic painted advertising drop showing a Black Hills landscape framed by marquee bulbs and ornate boxes.

The talent is here. What’s missing is a place to be seen.

Help us keep the arts alive in the heart of downtown Spearfish.

The Black Hills has always been full of talent. Musicians, painters, actors, and kids who don’t yet know how good they are. What our artists have too often lacked is a stage worthy of it, and a community that gets to see it.

Since 1906, The Matthews has been that stage. A home for the arts in downtown Spearfish, and a place where our whole community comes together. Your support is what keeps the lights on and the season going.

Shape What The Matthews Can Become

Questions

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. The Matthews is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 36-3652212). Your gift is tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, and we send a receipt for every donation.

Where does my money go?

To the mission. We run lean and direct our resources to programming and artists rather than overhead, so your gift does as much as possible for the arts in Spearfish.

Can I give in honor or memory of someone?

Absolutely. Note it with your gift, or reach out and we’ll help.

Can my business get involved?

Yes, and we’d love that. Our Impact Credits partnership program is built around what your business cares about. See our Partnerships page, or contact Heath directly.

Who do I talk to?

Heath Johnson, Executive Director, at [email protected]. We’d genuinely love to hear from you.

The talent is already here. With you, so is the place to show it.

Every gift, of any size, goes straight to work on our stage.
