“We are so excited to bring these phenomenal local artists back to the Matthews to be featured as part of our jazz series,” said Darren Granaas, executive director of the Matthews Opera House.

Granaas explained that because this concert is part of their jazz series, the main floor of the theatre will feature cabaret style table seating, candles, and even bottle service with specialty wines. Because table seating is limited, regular balcony seating is also available.

“Our jazz performances are a really fun experience,” he added. “It’s something different, and it’s a great way to spend an evening with friends or even on a date.”

Folk singer/songwriter Jami Lynn Olson first gained an appreciation for music on a small stage in Peever, SD. An avid performer of bluegrass, folk music, and jazz, Jami brings her exuberance and musical talent into classrooms, hospital systems, and youth centers. Her wide skill set and versatility as a musician allow her to accommodate participants or listeners in many different settings. Jami Lynn is a graduate of The University of South Dakota and has shared her talent and love of local folk history with audiences across the Midwest, Southeast, and Pacific Northwest. She has also released three full-length albums of folk songs and originals.

JAS Quintet is one of South Dakota’s premier jazz ensembles. Formed in 2012 and based in Sioux Falls the ensemble continues to perform concert and festival dates throughout the region.
