SUBSCRIPTION SERIES: “Angel Street” Community Theater

The Matthews’ community theater presents a night of deception and suspense with the play, “Angel Street,” by Patrick Hamilton. Originally titled, “Gaslight,” the event runs Thursday through Sundays, Oct. 26-29 and Nov. 2-5, 2017. “Angel Street” is directed by Julie Walkins. The Thursday-Saturday performances start at 7:30 p.m., while the Sunday performances are 2 p.m. This is the second event of the 2017-18 Subscription Series.

Individual tickets are $15 adults, $5 youth and BHSU students. They go on sale September 1.

AT 7:30 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 22, the 2017-18 Subscription Series season begins with a concert of Black Hills talent.

Singer-songwriter Hank Harris, Rapid City is his home, and Nashville musician, Matt Berry, born and raised in Spearfish, lead off our 2017-18 Subscription Series season.

Cost is $25 adults, $10 youth & BHSU students. These individual tickets will be available for sale on Sept. 1.

Chilean music graces The Matthews with Nano Stern on Nov. 14, 2017

The Matthews is honored to have Chilean singer/songwriter, Nano Stern, perform live on its stage at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017.

Nano Sterns’ path as an artist follows richly crafted song lines laid by his family and his Chilean musical ancestry and unites those with a sound utterly fresh and relevant. Nano has found something within that has positioned him as the voice of a generation. This is the third event of our 2017-18 Subscription Series season.

Portland Cello Project coming to The Matthews Jan. 19

The Portland Cello Project (or PCP, as their fans affectionately call them) takes The Matthews stage at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 19, 2018.  PCP has wowed audiences all over the country with extravagant performances, everywhere from Prairie Home Companion, to that punk rock club in the part of town your grandma warns you not to go to after dark. The group has built a reputation mixing genres and blurring musical lines and perceptions wherever they go.
