Tracy is from Lead, South Dakota. She has participated in shows and galleries in the Northern Black Hills, where she has received numerous awards in the past few years. Her most recent award was Best of Show at the Winter Art Show in the Spearfish Gallery in 2017.
She is a former kindergarten teacher and says that is where her inspiration for art began. Tracy was not only inspired by the five year olds, but also the authors and illustrators of children’s books. She lives according to the Dr. Seuss’s quote, “Why try to fit in when you were born to stand out!” Tracy is dyslexic, and trying to “fit in” has been a lifelong struggle for her. Growing up before the diagnosis of dyslexia was tough, but she learned to prevail. Tracy feels like her art does not “fit in” either, and that is ok, because it’s uniqueness, in the end, fits in.
